Department of Transportation-Tire quality grades: The U. Department of Transportation requires Ford Motor Company to give you the following information about tire grades exactly as the government has written it. You are strongly urged to buy a reliable tire pressure gauge, as automatic service station gauges may be inaccurate. Ford recommends the use of a digital or dial-type tire pressure gauge rather than a stick-type tire pressure gauge. Refer to Maintenance product specifications and capacities in this chapter for the proper fluid type. Remove the dipstick, wiping it clean with a clean, dry lint free rag. If necessary, refer to Identifying components in the engine compartment in this chapter for the location of the dipstick.
Install and tighten the fill plug securely. Use only fluid that meets Ford specifications. Refer to the Maintenance product specifications and capacities section in this chapter.
See your authorized dealer or qualified technician for replacement. The technician can check the diagnostics system for the possibility of an excessively dirty air filter. Replace the PCV valve with one that meets Ford material and design specifications for your vehicle, such as a Motorcraft or equivalent replacement part. The customer warranty may be void for any damage to the emissions system if such a PCV valve is not used. P Compression ratio Vehicle line, series, body type 4. Remove the bulb socket from the lamp assembly by turning counterclockwise.
Pull the bulb straight out of the socket. Install in reverse order. Gently pull the lamp assembly away from the vehicle. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise and pull it out. Remove the front splash shield from the bumper. Reach under the side of the bumper, grasp the bulb socket and turn it counterclockwise to remove 4.
Pull the bulb straight out. Make sure the headlamp control is in the OFF position. Insert a flathead screwdriver in the recess and pry out the complete light assembly. Open the reading lamp assembly. Pull the bulb straight out and replace it. After the bulb has been replaced, close the lamp assembly. Washer Pull the lever further to operate the washer.

All occupants of the vehicle should always wear their safety belts even when an airbag SRS is provided.
Side airbags are designed to inflate in side-impact collisions, not roll-over, rear-impact, frontal or near-frontal collisions, unless the collision causes sufficient lateral deceleration. Do not leave children, unreliable adults, or pets unattended in your vehicle. Booster seats position a child so that safety belts fit better. They lift the child up so that the lap belt rests low across the hips and the knees bend comfortably.
Ford recommends the use of a child safety seat having a top tether strap. Page 98 Children 12 and under should be properly restrained in the rear seat whenever possible. Position the child safety seat in a seat with a combination lap and shoulder belt. If the retractor is not locked, unbuckle the belt and repeat Steps 2 through 9. Check to make sure the child seat is properly secured before each use. Locate the correct anchor for the selected seating position. Follow the instructions in this chapter.
In a crash, one anchor may not be strong enough to hold two child seat attachments and may break, causing serious injury or death.
